One of our younger members Matt Beck is rapidly becoming not only a skilled modeller but a guru of all things 3d printing. In the teams quest to make the big type 45 destroyer come alive he has decided to create a fully working model of the Pacific 24 rib that deploys from the side of the superstructure. I’ll let the pictures and videos following tell the story in full but bear in mind that the pacific 24 is only 7.8 meters long which at 1/32 scale gives a model of only 24.5 cm in length. Given the size restriction not only has matt managed to make a fully detailed model but it comes with a 3d printed waterjet with working steering and reversing bucket fully radio control and it floats.
